Jeremiah Nicols (or Nichols; 1748–1806), a Maryland planter who held a number of local offices and in 1787 and 1788 represented Kent County in the Maryland legislature.George Washington appointed him collector of customs at Chester in 1790 and in 1792 appointed him inspector of the revenue for the port.
