Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, Seigneur de Vauban, later Marquis de Vauban (1633-1707), commonly referred to as Vauban, was a French military engineer. He was the author of The new method of fortification, as practised by Monsieur de Vauban, Engineer General of France with an explication of all terms appertaining to that art (London, 1691), which advocated pentagonal fortifications.

Zebulon Hollingsworth (ca. 1762-1824) became the U.S. district attorney for Maryland in 1792. In 1806 he became associate judge of Maryland’s sixth district court.
