The copper sulfide minerals were borneite or chalcopyrite, and the iron sulfide minerals were pyrite or marcasite.

Joseph Cloud (1770-1845) was the chief assayer at the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia from 1797 to 1836. He was a member of the American Philosophical Society and the Philadelphia Linnean Society.
