Maj. George Rogers Clark Floyd (1779-1823) of Louisville, Ky., commanded the 4th U.S. Infantry at the Battle of Tippecanoe on 7 Nov 1811, when American forces under Gov. William Henry Harrison of the Indiana Territory defeated Native American forces associated with Shawnee leader Tecumseh and his brother Tenskwatawa (commonly known as "The Prophet").
