Notes:

The donor, Elias Boudinot (1740-1821), was a lawyer and statesman from Elizabeth, New Jersey who at the time of this donation was a delegate to the Confederation Congress, of which he became president for a one-year term in November 1782. He later served as a Congressman (1789-1795) and director of the U.S. Mint (1795-1805).
