Abraham Chovet (1704-1790) was an English surgeon and anatomist who settled in Philadelphia by 1774. He was skilled at creating wax anatomical models and other preparations for medical education, and he was one of the founders of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. After his death Pennsylvania Hospital paid $2.658.88 for Chovet's anatomical preparations, which in 1824 they presented to the University of Pennsylvania, where they remained until destroyed by fire in 1888.
