"Which fell & burst in the Danish Ship of War Zealand of 74 Guns, in the Battle of Copenhagen 2d. April 1801, with Lord Nelsons fleet."

The donor was an "officer in the Zealand."

Notes:

This Danish ship of the line (Capt. F.C.L. Harboe) was sunk during the Battle of Copenhagen. One of its officers, Schultz, must have kept the piece of shrapnel as a souvenir as he was escaping the sinking vessel.
