Red head and breast; throat bright blue; feathers of the back are dark green, and each tipped with red, which gives the spots of green a lunar form. The lesser coverts of the wings a fine blue. Tail blue & cuneated. White bill, broader than in common Parrots, and not much hooked at the point, the tooth very acute. This bird is about 14 inches long."
