Commissary-General's Office, Philadelphia, October 6, 1777: All persons having in their possession rum, or any kind of spirituous liquors, are hereby ordered to report the same to the commissary-general before twelve o'clock to-morrow. N.B. All persons not complying with the above order, and having liquors in their possession, with be dealt with in the most rigorous manner
