René Just Haüy (1743-1822), Sur l'arragonite, a 26-page article that was published in several French scientific journals. In March 1809 Rembrandt Peale presented to the American Philosophical Society a copy from the Annales du Muséum d'histoire naturelle, 11 (1808): 241-266.
Haüy was a French priest and mineralogist, commonly styled the Abbé Haüy after he was made an honorary canon of Notre Dame.
