Francis DaCosta was the proprietor of the Mill Grove Lead Mine, Perkiomen Creek, Montgomery County, Pa.

Silvain Godon (ca. 1774-1840) was a French mineralogist who settled in Philadelphia in 1809 and gave lectures at Peale's Museum until he had a mental breakdown in 1810.
