The Accessions Book includes the text of two certificates: 1) "This Certifies that the bearer Nehemiah W. Badger was wounded at Sackets Harbour [New York] on the 29th May. 1813. A musket ball passed in at his right ear and lodged near his left Eye, and was extracted by me from the left cheek. The wound was received in the battle of the above mentioned day. Amasa Trowbridge, surgeon, Watertown, July 13. 1813." 2) "This is to all that these Presents may come. That Nehemiah W. Badger, a Private in Capn. Morgan Company of Light dragoons was wounded in the Battle at Sackets harbour on 29th May 1813 by a ball passing through the external Ear and along the passage & out at the opposite cheek in a manner that I have no doubt of its having produced entire deafness of the right Ear. I have seen him from time to time ever since he received the wound. It may frequently render him quite miserable. William Robinson, Doct."
