The Aurora. General Advertiser (Philadelphia), 28 Nov 1806 under the heading "Fragments or relics of Antique Drapery," calls this "an elegant piece of a Robe of the present queen of England," who was not Elizabeth, but Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1744-1818).

Mary (Moore) Heston (Mrs. John) was a sister of Peale's third wife Hannah Moore (1755–1821).
