"On one Side Mars the god of war and over his head Mars, underneath 1718. on the reverse a cartouche in which is wrote Daler S.M. The seven planets had each a coin of them."

Notes:

The donor was probably Edward Duffield (1720–1801), a clock- and watchmaker of Philadelphia, 1741–47, and later of Lower Dublin, Philadelphia Co. He made at least one clock for Benjamin Franklin, was a member of the American Philosphical Society, and was one of the executors of BF’s last will.
