The Temple of Mercury was part of Dougga (or Thugga or TBGG), a Berber, Punic and Roman settlement the ruins of which now spread over 160 acres near present-day Téboursouk in northern Tunisia. The ruins of the Temple are pictured here.
William Wood was the manager of the Peales' Baltimore Museum.
