Englaving by Pierre Adrien le Beau (1748-after 1804), after Charles-Dominique-Joseph Eisen (1720-1778), La Vertue Sous la Garde de la Fidélité (1772)

The donor was Benjamin Duffield, (1753–1799), the son of Philadelphia clock- and watchmaker Edward Duffield. He graduated from the College of Philadelphia (1771); completed medical courses there (1774), and went to Edinburgh to finish his training. He was a founding member of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
