This work comprises 5 prints on 13 sheets and 10 mounts; sheets 71 x 54 cm, mounts 74.5 x 103 cm or smaller; the prints reproduce Le Brun's five canvas paintings from the series known as The Battles of Alexander: the Crossing of the Granicus (pictured here), the Battle of Arbela, the Queens of Persia at the feet of Alexander (Tent of Darius), Alexander and Porus, and the Entry of Alexander into Babylon.
