A bone 7 inches long 1/2 broad at the part that join a fragment which appears to be part of a Scull

"The bone is convex & a little Striated in its length, it is not Straight but some what bent length-wise & a little arched towards the upper part, it is broke at the end. what animal it has belonged to is not easy to ascertain but most probably it was the proboscis of some fish unknown. it was found in a meadow near the river Schuylkill and not far from Philadelphia."

Notes:

The donor, John Dunlap (1747-1812), a native of Ireland, was a Philadelphia printer who printed the first copies of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.
