Maximilian Henry of Bavaria (1621-1688) became Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and Bishop of Liège in 1650. Du Simitière's coin may have been lilke this 1679 silver patagon minted in Liege, Belgium with Maximilian's portrait.
The donor was presumably a British soldier in Philadelphia during the occupation of 1777-1778.
