Scuttlefish is a synonym of cuttlefish. Cuttlebone, also known as cuttlefish bone, is a hard, brittle internal structure found in all members of the family Sepiidae, commonly known as cuttlefish, a family within the cephalopods. Cuttlebone is composed primarily of aragonite.

Miers Fisher (1748-1819), a birthright Quaker, was a prominent lawyer, legislator, philanthropist, merchant, and scientist in early Federal Philadelphia.
