Notes:
Talbot Hamilton (d. 1820), a former officer of the Royal Navy, operated a school for mathematics and navigation (of which Stephen Decatur was once a pupil) in Lower Dublin, near Philadelphia. He was also a collector of art who traveled to Italy, died there, and bequeathed several paintings to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. (Aurora.
