Trap rock, also known as either trapp or trap, is any dark-colored, fine-grained, non-granitic intrusive or extrusive igneous rock. Types of trap rock include basalt, peridotite, diabase, and gabbro.
Mahlon Dickerson (1770-1853) was later a Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Governor of New Jersey, U.S. Senator from New Jersey, U.S. Secretary of the Navy, and a U.S. District Judge for New Jersey.
