"Found on the land of Gen. J. Chambers, in Franklin county, Pennsylvania. The walnut tree falling down, presented a bed of ore."

Notes:

James Chambers (1744-1805) served as a colonel in the American Revolution; he was justice of the peace of Franklin County in 1784 and county commissioner from 1793 to 1795. In 1794 and again in 1798 he was brigadier general commanding the Third Brigade of Pennsylvania militia.
