Notes:

These fossils probably came from one of the islands in the Ohio River at Louisville, Ky. Favosites is an extinct genus of tabulate coral characterized by polygonal closely packed corallites (giving it the common name "honeycomb coral").

The donor may have been John Finney McClenachan (1744-1825), who served in the Chester County (Pa.) militia during the Revolution and later moved to Kentucky.
