Notes:
Madrepore are coral of the genus Madrepora, many of which occur in tropical seas and form large coral reefs. Their fossils are often found in limestone and marble.
Nagler also gave a fossil madrepore froom Seneca Lake on 24 April 1805, and Jacob Awl gave one from an unspecified location in 1800. Accessions Book, p. 4
