"It was situated immediately over the patella, and in the center of a Tear, which was produced by a burn which she had when young. -- It was when first taken off the colour of the negro woman from whom it was taken. Exterpated and pr[esented] by Anderson Donaphan."

Poulson's American Daily Advertiser (Philadelphia), 25 Mar 1806 reads "Dr. Anderson Donaphan."
