There are many species of Gorgonia, commonly known as the sea fan, a sessile colonial soft coral in the family Gorgoniidae, one of which, Gorgonia mariae, which occurs in the tropical western Atlantic Ocean, is pictured here.
There are two Red Rivers in North America (Red River of the North, which flows into Lake Winnipeg, and Red River of the South, a tributary of the Atchafalaya River); neither flows into a body of water that would support Gorgonia.
