"On a board 21 inches broad, 16 inches high -- The figures of Diana and the nimphs very well done but the landskip & drapery appear retouched & spoil'd, it has a common black frame round & the board has been broken & glued again."

Notes:

The donor was probably James B. Abercrombie, D.D. (1758-1841), who at the time of this donation was studying for the ministry under the Rev. William White and later became assistant minister of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia (1794-1832) after spending more than a decade as a merchant and officeholder.
