1 estampe portrait de Charles Howard Earl of Nottingham --- grave par Vertue
Trans.: A portrait print of Chrles Howard, Earl of Nottingham, engraved by Vertue

Object Status:

Unlocated

Accession Date:

N.d.

Primary Source Reference:

Du Simitière Scraps, Library Company of Philadelphia, no. 38, 2

Notes:

Line engraving by Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780), after Daniel Mytens (ca. 1590-1647), Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham (1739)

Du Simitière may have attributed this to George Vertue (1684-1756) because it was published as a plate in Thomas Birch, The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain, Engraven by Mr. Houbraken, and Mr. Vertue. With Their Lives and Characters (London, 1743).
