"Ornamented with curious work of porcupine quills died in the brightest colours having before a bunch of feathers dyed red & behind a long tail of brown feathers tied to a String ornamented with porcupine quills."

Notes:

Henry Laurens (1724-1792), merchant, planter, and a leading patriot of Charleston, S.C., was at the time of this donation a delegate to the Second Contrinental Congress (having served as President 1777-1778).
